Our society "The London & Southern Counties Budgerigar Society" caters for the needs of all Budgerigar breeders who live in London, Surrey, Sussex, Kent, Essex, Middlesex, Hampshire and the Channel Islands.  If you are a new fancier or already breeding and exhibiting Budgerigars, you will find great benefits in joining the London & Southern Counties Budgerigar Area Society.

We are one of the largest of the ten Area Societies in the UK, which are all affiliated to the Budgerigar Society.

The Society publishes regular newsletters to keep members informed about Society activities.

Our show patronage is awarded to over 100 societies and shows every year, within and outside the boundaries of our area. Each member will have the opportunity to win rosettes, spoons and diplomas as well as cash rewards. Linked to our patronage we have Breeder of the Year awards - the 'Chelfers' and 'Blue Riband' awards.

We currently have three successful shows every year and one sales day

We provide a Help Line service to members who need to contact one of our experienced members for immediate help and advice.

The Society publishes a list of approved judges who can officiate at any shows organised by local societies

When you join, you will be issued with your own personal London & Southern (L&S) number which is used on rings. This allows you to purchase rings through the Budgerigar Society. It is possible to purchase your own 'Personalised Ring Number' for a fee of just £25. You will also be issued with a 'Membership Certificate' which can be framed and displayed on your birdroom wall.

Our newly designed site now translates into over 40 languages and will display text in any of seven sizes for those who have sight problems, just select the option at the top of every page.
